Bessie est née en janvier 1932. C’est une doyenne importante de Yuendumu tant pour les cérémonies que d’un point de vue artistique. Elle est mariée à Paddy Sims Japaljarri, considéré comme l'initié possédant le plus de connaissances jusqu'à son décès. Bessie meurt quelques mois après celui de son mari, en 2012.
